PAL audit and digital literacy

An quality audit of online PAL (Personally accountable Learning) provision on the Worcester College of Technology Moodle VLE was undertaken in December 2012. It revealed large variations in both approach and quality. Although a lack of guidance is claimed by some teachers to be the reason for both characteristics, guidance has in fact been offered in the form of face to face CPD sessions. However, teachers are busy and CPD which is not seen as essential sometimes gets passed over in favour of more pressing tasks.

 

It has therefore been decided that more online provision of Digital Literacy CPD must be made available, particularly in a form which can be either/both:

(a) dipped in and out of when the opportunity occurs

(b) easily accessed when the need arises

(c) very granular, rather like an "faq", aiming at quick and easy answers to specific questions
